The Natural eye makeup look that is mostly used during the day. This includes neutral colors, skin tone eye shadows, and makeup done to a minimum. On a daily basis I prefer to have natural looking beautiful eyes without drawing attention to them.

I’ve been wanting to get Peek-A-Boo Purple streaks in my hair for awhile, so a few days ago I finally did it! I went to the Paul Mitchell Beauty School downtown to get it done by one of my boyfriend’s co-workers. If you haven’t had your hair done there before, I totally recommend it. You only have to pay about half the price of a normal salon because you’re allowing a student to do it for you and even though they’re students they have their teachers there the whole time to make sure that they don’t mess anything up, haha.
When I got there I had to start with a consultation with my hairdresser, Paulina, and her teacher to figure out how she was going to achieve the color that I wanted. I first asked if I could color all my hair to a dark red but it was going to be very difficult to achieve because I don’t have virgin black hair, I have black box dye hair. So I just went with purple peek-a-boos instead.
It took close to an hour to lighten the sections of my hair that would be dyed to purple, and it was so weird to see blonde streaks in my hair after the bleach was washed out.

Then once the purple dye was put on, it took another half hour to let it set.

And then once you include the consultation, washing and conditioning, blowdrying and styling.. 5 hours had already gone by! And this was the end result. I have 2 streaks on each side but it was really hard to get a picture of the other side.

In certain light it looks more red than purple but it’s because it’s like a violet/ red color. I had to go back the next day because I also wanted to get it cut because all of my layers grew out. So here’s the final result.

I love that the purple peeks out in a subtle way because depending on how my hair falls at times you can’t even see them but that’s what I love about them. I’m very happy with the way it turned out.
I keep the products that I use the most on top of my Vanity. My foundation, powder, brushes, blush, eyeliner, mascara, the lip butters I use the most, etc.

Then I keep the stuff that doesn’t fit on top of my Vanity in drawers underneath my table.

Since my Naked Palettes don’t fit inside my drawers I keep them on top, next to my box of makeup remover towelettes.

In the first drawer, I have my elf blushes and gel liners, L’oreal Infallible eyshadows and my Urban Decay Ammo eyeshadow palette. In the second, I have all my Maybelline Cream Tattoos and the shadow applicators I use to apply them.

In the third drawer, I have all my lipsticks and lip butters. The fourth drawer has all my 8 pan Wet N’ Wild palettes, the baked palettes with the eyeliner pencils that came with them, a few single eyeshadows and my NYX glitter palette. The fifth drawer has all my Wet N’ Wild Trios and the last drawer has all my extra lip glosses and faux lashes.
A few months ago I started using this app on my iPhone called Instagram. WhiIe I was exploring different profiles, I stumbled upon VillabeauTIFful. She’s a makeup artist in Seattle, WA. I think I found her by looking through the “popular page.” There was one photo in particular that changed everything. Once I saw it I was hooked! This is how I found out about the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters and Wet N’ Wild eyeshadows. Her MOTD’s that followed featured these products and I thought it was amazing how beautifully she had done it, with products at a low, affordable price.

I was at this point in my life where I was feeling lonely and I spent a lot of time by myself. In my boredom, I started reading more and more makeup and beauty blogs. There were so many products that a lot of people were talking about, and I wanted to be a part of it. I felt excited to go out and search for products that were getting a lot of recognition. It gave me a reason to get out of bed. I don’t think that I NEED to wear makeup, except to cover up acne scars and blemishes, I think it’s fun to wear makeup :)
I saw this picture once of an eye makeup look that had half of a butterfly on the outer corner of the eye and I thought it was really cute. I would love to know how that would look on me or even how to create that.
I wanted to join in on the fun of Facial February, courtesy of Flor over at Lipstick&Stockings. If you haven’t checked out her blog yet, you’re missing out. She’s amazing! One of my favorite blogs :)
Here we go!
So I couldn’t start last night because I didn’t get home until really late due to the Breaking Dawn DVD release. But I had time to do it tonight. Since I’m a “baller on a budget” I couldn’t go out and buy anything new but I’m glad that I already had a face mask product to use. Every Friday I’ll be using Neutrogena’s Clear Pore Cleanser/ Mask along with my Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate Oil, so I can take that extra step to taking care of my skin.

I haven’t used this product in awhile so my face feels really clean and tingly right now, I love it. On top of using these products every Friday, I’m also going to TRY to drink more water.

It’s not too late to start, join us!
